BUT WHAT IS A HEAD SPA?
Head spas are indeed essential for maintaining healthy hair growth and preventing issues such as dandruff and hair loss. They accomplish this by promoting proper blood circulation, which is crucial for strong and thriving hair. Additionally, these treatments alleviate pressure and invigorate the scalp, creating an environment that is conducive to healthy hair growth. Moreover, head spa treatments prevent the accumulation of excess sebum, ensuring that the scalp remains balanced and comfortable whilst ensuring the hair shaft is treated with carefully selected and customised treatments.

How can I book an appointment?

You can book your appointment by calling 0467 792 082 during business hours or booking online any time by clicking HERE.

Please understand, whilst we are with another guest during a head spa service, we are unable to answer calls and will return your call as soon as possible.

Can men get head spa's too?

Our head spa services are customized to meet the needs of each guest, regardless of their gender. Male clients with short hair can opt for a mini hydration skin ritual that uses our Depot Male Skin Range. This range is specially formulated for male skin that is typically known to be tougher, thicker and less sensitive than women's. This step replaces our intensive hair therapy treatment step for male clients.

Do you offer couples/double bookings?

We completely understand that couples packages are a popular request and we want to assure you that we are actively working towards offering them in the future.

Does the head spa service include full hair styling/blowdry after a head spa treatment?

Please note that our headspa service includes a towel dry finish only and does not include blow-drying or styling. If you would like to have a blow-dry or straighten/curl service after your headspa, please make sure to include the additional services required at the time of booking. We want to ensure that you have the best possible experience with us, so please do not hesitate to let us know your preferences prior to booking.

Is booking essential for the use of your spa salon?

Yes, booking is essential for the use of our spa salon. We want to ensure that we provide our clients with the best possible experience, so we highly recommend that you book in advance to secure your preferred date and time. FAQs About Your Appointment

How can I prepare for my headspa? Do I need to bring anything with me?

In addition to the information we've already provided, we also advise the following:

- Due to our flat laying bed, for your comfort, we do not recommend consuming a meal or excessive fluids within 1 hour of your headspa service.
- Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time with tangle free hair to allow for check-in and consultation.
- We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that won't interfere with your headspa treatment. (eg. Hoodies/turtlenecks are not advised)
- Please avoid applying any hair products, such as gels, hairspray, or oils, before your appointment.
- If you are not receiving additional blowdry/styling after your headspa service, we recommend that you bring a hairband or hair clip to put your hair together after the treatment.
- You may also bring your makeup items to fix up your makeup after the treatment at one of our styling stations.
- If you have any allergies or sensitivities to certain products, please contact us prior to booking your consultation.
- If you have any special requests or concerns, please do not hesitate to inform us before your appointment/ prior to booking. We want to make sure that your experience with us is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

We hope that this information helps you prepare for your Head Spa appointment.

I have hair extensions. Can I receive head spa treatment?

It's essential for us to have proper access to the scalp during our services. Unfortunately, we cannot perform our services on clients who have extensions, braids, or sew-ins as these hair extensions obstruct access to the scalp and pores. If you're interested in our services but have extensions, we recommend removing them before scheduling an appointment with us. This way, we can provide you with the best possible experience and ensure that your scalp is getting the attention it deserves.

Is it safe for my lash extensions?

Due to the service being heavily water based, we recommend that you attend your appointment without lash extensions.

I have an event after my head spa appointment, is it okay to wear make up?

Please attend your appointment make up & lash free. If you are heading out after your appointment, please feel free to use one of our free styling stations to apply your makeup prior to leaving the salon. Our head spa service also does not include a blowdry/style finish so we recommend booking our blowdry/straightening add-on at the time of booking or we may not be able to accommodate for this service.

Will the head spa affect my hair colour/keratin?

It's definitely reassuring to know that the ingredients used in the Head Spa treatments are safe for all types of treated hair.

However, it's essential to take note that if you've recently had any chemical or colour services done before your appointment, there is a possibility that your colour or keratin smoothing treatment may lift during the detoxing process. It's advisable to wait for at least a week after any hair treatment before scheduling a Head Spa session.

On the other hand, if you're concerned about your colour or keratin service, it's highly recommended to have your Head Spa session 7-14 days prior your next colour or keratin smoothing appointment to reduce the time before your next refresh colour/keratin appointment.

It's best to wait for at least seven days after a Head Spa session before doing any chemical services to avoid applying chemicals to a freshly cleaned scalp. It is great to know that head spa services can improve your chemical services since your hair shaft will be detoxed and free of any build-up, allowing your upcoming treatments to perform at their best.

Can I record myself during the service?

Once you're in the Head Spa room, we kindly ask that you refrain from using your cell phone during your appointment. We request that you set your phone to silent mode and place it aside before we begin the treatment. However, if you wish to record the treatment for social media purposes, please let your therapist know. We're more than happy to facilitate this for you, and we want you to have a memorable experience during your Head Spa session. Don't forget to tag us on social media if you do decide to share your experience! We'd love to see your feedback and how we can improve our services to meet your needs better.

Is it possible to reschedule / cancel my appointment?

We kindly request that you provide us with a minimum of 48 hours notice if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. To do so, please give us a call at 0467 792 082.

Our rescheduling and cancellation policy is outlined in our terms and conditions. Please refer to them for more information.

Thank you for choosing our services. We are excited to see you soon.

If I’m late for my appointment, will my treatment time be shortened?

Please note that if you arrive late for your appointment, we may need to shorten your treatment time to avoid delays in subsequent clients' treatment times. Depending on the circumstances, we may not be able to move your treatment down into the next time frame if it is booked by the next client. We appreciate your understanding in this regard. We are committed to providing our services in a smooth manner to ensure that our clients can fully enjoy our treatments.

Health & Safety FAQs

Are you able to diagnose scalp conditions?

We want to emphasize that while we're able to assist you with situations such as dry/oily/sweaty scalps, dandruff, and hair loss, our Head Spa experience is not a substitute for medical attention. If you have any underlying problems or concerns about your scalp or hair, we strongly recommend speaking to your doctor before scheduling an appointment with us. While our services can help improve the overall health of your scalp and hair, they're not a replacement for professional medical advice or treatment. If you feel like you require an official diagnosis combined with medical intervention, we would be more than happy to refer you to a trichologist or dermatologist upon request. We're committed to providing our clients with the best possible care and ensuring that they have all the resources they need to keep their scalp and hair healthy. So, if you have any doubts or concerns about your scalp or hair health, please do not hesitate to seek medical advice before booking an appointment with us.

Is it safe for expecting mothers to try a head spa?

It's wonderful to hear that you would like to visit us. As long as you have followed all directions by your medical practitioners, have written consent, and are 16 weeks or less, we would be thrilled to have you. Please ensure that you notify us of your pregnancy on the consultation form that we send you before your visit. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate guests who are 16 weeks or more pregnant due to the zero degree nature of our bed combined with the length of our headspa treatment time. We appreciate your understanding in this regard.

Are there situations when I can't have a head spa?

Yes, there are certain cases where we may decline to provide a Head Spa treatment. If you have any open wounds, infections, or inflammation on your scalp, recovering from surgery or receiving outpatient treatment due to illness or injury, or have allergies in which we cannot avoid, we may ask you to reschedule your appointment until the issue has been resolved. Similarly, if you have any contagious scalp conditions, such as lice or ringworm, we may decline to provide services until the condition has been treated and is no longer contagious. Additionally, if you have any hair extensions, braids, or sew-ins that obstruct access to the scalp, we are not be able to perform our services effectively, and we may have to decline to provide services until the hair extensions/braids etc have been removed.
We also cannot provide services in the following instances:
- Alcohol Consumption
- 2 weeks after any kind of beauty lasering service
- Cardiovascular disorder
- Immediately after sunburn.
- Any kind of diseases/viruses, especially those related to the skin.
- Immediately after surgery whether medical, reconstructive, or cosmetic.

I am not 18, can I have a head spa?

Yes, you can still receive the service if you are under 18 years old. However, your legal guardian will need to give you permission and complete the consultation form on your behalf. This is to ensure that we have all the necessary information to provide you with a safe and suitable service.

Does the salon equipment have weight limits?

We understand that you may be disappointed to hear that we are advised by the manufacturer that for safety and warranty reasons, our specialty Takara Belmont salon equipment does have a weight bearing limit of 135kgs due to the hydraulic system. We want you to know that we care about your safety and well-being and ask that you take this information into consideration prior to booking your appointment with us. We hope to be able to offer an alternative option in the future that will better suit your needs. Please check back soon.
